Dedicated to Teaching Children to Swim Safely and Confidently
About Me
Annabeth Tate has been teaching swimming lessons since Summer of 2016. Annabeth's mother, Michelle Colbert taught children to swim in Dothan for 15 years before deciding to retire and pass the baton to Annabeth. Annabeth trained under her mother and assisted her for many years before taking over. Annabeth is a lover of children, life, summertime, and most importantly, God. Annabeth begins every lesson with a prayer to God for safety and fun for the week of lessons. She wants to glorify God in all that she does, including teaching God's children to swim.
Michelle Colbert began teaching swimming lessons in Dothan after the little boy of a family friend drowned in a pool at a pool party. It became evident of the need in Dothan to teach these children to swim safely so they can save themselves if they were to ever fall into the pool. No parent should ever have to experience what it feels like to lose a child to drowning. What should be a fun and enjoyable thing such as a pool, can turn into a horrible nightmare in a second if children are not taught safety from an early age. Mrs. Annabeth strives to make sure when every child leaves her class at the end of the week, they are able to save themselves if they were to ever fall in when no one is watching. Mrs. Annabeth is very passionate about her work and wants each child to leave happy and confident!
